Join us on the May walk around Ljubljana

Walking is a basic movement activity and also the most popular form of movement among Slovenians. According to the recommendations of the World Health Organization, adults should do 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity physical activity per week. But even if you can't do it, let us console you: every walk benefits your health, as it invigorates the blood, strengthens the heart, works against stress, and there is almost no chance of injury.

In Ljubljana, we have almost unlimited possibilities for walking and hiking: a little further uphill, you can see the paths to Golovec, Ljubljana Castle, Rožnik, Šmarna gora, Rašica, and the highest to Janče, and the almost completely flat Path ob žici, which is especially well visited on the Saturday closest to Ljubljana's city holiday, i.e. May 9. This year it will be on Saturday, 9 May, when you will be able to walk along the sandy path that once led around the city, and a day or two earlier, preschool children, elementary school children and students will be walking part of the same path.

Tenders for hikers have been published, there will be no registration fee, but you will register at one of the entry points, where they will be waiting for you with cards for collecting stamps.
